Gloucester celebrates Jamaican Independence Day

Gloucester Park was buzzing with reggae music and parades celebrating the Independence Day of Jamaica last weekend.

GlosJam, a free event on Sunday, has sounds and tastes from the Caribbean.

Independence Day is a national holiday in Jamaica which commemorates 6 August 1962, the day the country gained independence from the United Kingdom.
