Russian-born Olga Morozova was the last title winner back in 1973, and the likes of reigning Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova, former winners Petra Kvitova and Elena Rybakina, quadruple Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka and Brits Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter were among those hoping to make this year’s final.
